From the smoky back rooms of Seattle's dive bars to the grand stages of national tours, The Dusty 45s have been electrifying audiences for nearly three decades. Fronted by dynamic founding member and singer-songwriter Billy Joe Huels, the band has earned a reputation as one of the Pacific Northwest’s most beloved and enduring acts.
Driven by Huels's creative vision, the current lineup features a powerhouse of talent:
· Billy Joe Huels: Lead Vocals, Trumpet, Guitar
· Rod Cook (Lead Guitar, Vocals)
· Robin Cady (Upright Bass, Vocals)
· Kohen Burrill (Drums, Vocals)
The band continues to build on their signature blend of gritty rock 'n' roll and heartfelt storytelling. Most recently, the group released their 2025 EP, Butterflies. Recorded at Hollers Analog Studio in Malaga, Spain, via Sleazy Records, the 4-song collection captures the band’s raw, vintage energy in pure analog form.
This followed their 2024 full-length studio album, All the Beauty In Between. Produced by Ryan Leyva (aka Johnny Nails) at Seattle’s Studio Litho, the album showcased a sophisticated mix of twangy roadhouse vibes and surf-inspired anthems wrapped around Huels’ personal narratives.
Over the years, The Dusty 45s have become a distinct brand, frequently gracing the airwaves of KEXP and sharing stages with luminaries such as Adele, Brandi Carlile, Wanda Jackson, and John Prine. Whether they are playing a local festival or a national tour, their high-octane live shows and stellar musicianship remain the gold standard for their blend of roots-inspired rock.
